EMORY JOHNS CREEK BREAKS ANOTHER RECORD IN JUNE

Johns Creek, GA –  For the second month in a row, Emory Johns Creek Hospital has broken its volume records, posting its highest ever inpatient surgeries, outpatient visits and average daily census.  “June is typically a very slow month for hospitals, “ said Christine Williams, controller of the hospital.  “Our patient volumes exceeded our expectations,” she added.

The Imaging Services department has seen a surge in volume since adding the new mammography suite, offering patients precise results, in less time with half the radiation of other area mammogram machines.  Breast MRIs and the MammoSite® Radiation program are two of the newest options for women’s imaging services.

Emory Johns Creek has experienced steady growth since its opening in February of 2007.  Since November of 2007,  the hospital has achieved record results monthly.  “Patients are becoming aware of the hospital’s convenient location and the range of services we offer.  It’s been encouraging for us to hear that many patients are asking their physicians to send them to Emory Johns Creek,” said John Quinlivan, President and Chief Executive Officer.

The medical staff, comprised of physicians from the community as well as Emory physicians grows monthly as more doctors apply and choose to refer their patients to EJCH.  Currently, there are more than 600 physicians on staff, representing 43 specialties.  “With such an extensive medical staff, we are able to offer patients access to so many highly trained, world class specialists in a community hospital setting,” said Alan Wang, MD, Chief Medical Officer at the hospital.
